Exteriors Built for Life on Siesta Key

The famously cool quartz sand is what brings the world to Siesta Key, but anyone who owns here knows the island's light and air come with a bill. Salt rides every onshore breeze from Beach Road to Midnight Pass Road, glare off the Gulf and the Grand Canal doubles the UV load on west-facing walls, and each hurricane season is a fresh referendum on how well your roof, windows, and cladding were installed. The island's housing spans everything from weathered mid-century cottages near the Village to elevated coastal contemporaries — and every one of them lives under the same demanding sky.

Alpine Exteriors has been building for that sky for 25 years. Our work on Siesta Key covers the three systems that decide whether an island home is a joy or a maintenance treadmill: the roof, the walls, and the openings.

Roofing, Windows, and Siding — the Island Spec

Roofing

We build roofs from the deck up: renailed sheathing, sealed seams, secondary water barrier, and edge metal fastened for real uplift. Standing-seam metal has become the island favorite for good reason — salt resistance, heat reflection, longevity — but we install shingle and tile to the same sealed-deck standard, and we document everything for wind-mitigation credits.

Impact Windows and Doors

On a barrier island, impact glazing is the upgrade that touches everything: always-on storm protection, corrosion-resistant frames replacing pitted aluminum, cooler interiors, and the sliders that make canal-front living work sealing properly at last.

Siding and Trim

Fiber cement cladding with marine-grade fasteners and PVC trim ends the repaint cycle that salt and sun impose on painted surfaces here. We also detail elevated homes' understories — a spot where island construction quality varies wildly.

What Island Owners Get From Alpine

More than 2,000 completed projects have shaped how we operate, and the habits matter most on a key:

  • Salt-first specifications — hardware, finishes, and flashings chosen for a marine environment
  • Storm-season scheduling — work sequenced so your home is never left exposed
  • Documentation throughout — records that serve insurance, permitting, and future resale
  • Tight-lot courtesy — clean staging on the narrow streets and shared drives island living involves

Whether you own a canal-front ranch off Higel Avenue, a cottage a short walk from Siesta Beach, or a newer elevated build toward Turtle Beach, the path starts the same way: a free on-site estimate where we inspect everything, explain our findings plainly, and rank what actually needs doing. No storm-chaser theatrics — we were here before the last storm and we will be here after the next one.

Every installation is backed by our 25-year workmanship warranty, because a company that builds on barrier islands should expect to answer for its work in decades, not seasons. When your piece of Siesta Key is ready for a stronger shell, we are ready to help you plan it.
