Engineering First, Then the Fun Part
Every Alpine deck starts below the surface. East Hillsborough soils are sandy and seasonally saturated, so we size and set footings for the actual ground conditions, not a generic spec. Framing is ground-contact-rated pressure-treated lumber with corrosion-resistant connectors, joists are protected with flashing tape, and ledgers are flashed and bolted, never just nailed.
On top of that structure, most Dover clients choose capped composite decking. It ignores humidity, shrugs off termites, and skips the annual restaining that real wood demands under open Florida sun. Clients who want wood get honest guidance about what that maintenance actually looks like at this exposure.
- Farmhouse wraparound and porch decks that tie the house to the land
- Pool and lanai platform decks with slip-conscious surfaces
- Elevated decks and stairs for manufactured and stem-wall homes
- Pergolas and shade framing to make west-facing decks usable in July
We also plan for the Florida sun from the first sketch. A deck facing due west across open pasture is unusable on a July afternoon without shade, so we position outdoor rooms, pergolas and screens to work with the light instead of fighting it, and we leave room in the layout for the smoker, the fire pit and everything else that actually gets used out here.
Built Once, Backed for 25 Years
Across more than 2,000 completed projects we have learned that the best marketing in a community like Dover is the deck itself, because neighbors ask who built it. Our answer to that trust is a 25-year workmanship warranty on every deck we construct: if our workmanship fails, we come back and make it right.
Design conversations start with a free on-site estimate. We will walk the yard with you, look at grade, drainage, sun path and the views you want to keep, and sketch a deck that fits your property and your budget before a single post hole is dug.
