One City, a Hundred Square Miles, Two Very Different Kinds of Houses
North Port is enormous — a General Development Corporation grid platted in 1959 that sprawls across more land than any other city in Sarasota County. That history created a split housing stock: older concrete-block homes from the 1970s and 1980s scattered along the original canal-cut streets near US-41 and Warm Mineral Springs, and waves of newer construction from the 2000s boom through today's growth around Wellen Park and the I-75 corridor. The two eras need very different exterior work, and Alpine Exteriors does both.
For the older GDC-era homes, the priorities are roofs at the end of their second cycle, original single-pane windows, and soffit-fascia systems that have fed decades of humidity into the attic. For newer homes, the work is usually storm-hardening — impact windows, upgraded garage-adjacent entries, and re-roofs after the hail and wind events that have swept Sarasota County in recent seasons.
