Designing for How Bloomingdale Families Actually Live
Most of our projects here fall into a few patterns, each with its own engineering priorities:
- Pool deck extensions and rebuilds — replacing cracked concrete or aging wood around 1990s screened pools with cooler-underfoot composite surfaces
- Lanai and patio conversions that turn a bare slab into a covered outdoor room usable through the rainy season
- Freestanding decks under the oaks, where shade already exists and the structure just needs to take advantage of it
- Pergolas and pavilion roofs for the yards without tree cover, because an exposed deck in a Florida July is a griddle, not a gathering place
Why Composite Wins Here — Usually
We will build in pressure-treated pine if the budget calls for it, and we will do it correctly. But we quote composite on most Bloomingdale projects because the math favors it: no annual sealing, no splinters around the pool, no termite appetite, and fade warranties measured in decades. Under-structure still matters most, though — we frame with proper ground clearances, corrosion-rated hardware, and flashing at the house ledger, because the frame is what actually fails on most old Florida decks.
Permits and HOA Approvals, Handled
Deed restrictions run through much of Bloomingdale, and Hillsborough County permits decks like any structure. We manage the drawings, submittals, and inspections end to end.
Built to Be Enjoyed, Guaranteed to Last
Alpine has completed more than 2,000 projects, and our decks carry the same 25-year workmanship warranty as our roofing and siding — a longer written commitment than most Tampa-area deck builders will offer. It starts with a free on-site estimate: we will look at your yard's grade, sun path, and drainage, sketch options at a couple of price points, and give you a real number. If your backyard has been all potential and no plan, this is the easy first step.
